Volunteering / DIBS

IGHHA relies on the support of our families to provide a quality hockey experience for all players. Volunteer participation helps make tournaments, concessions, fundraising events, player development opportunities, and association activities possible.

Volunteer opportunities are managed through your Crossbar account, where families can view available opportunities, claim shifts, and track completed volunteer credits.

1 Credit = Approximately 1 Volunteer Hour

Some volunteer opportunities may be assigned additional credits based on responsibility level or event needs.

Claiming Volunteer Opportunities

  1. Log in to your IGHHA Crossbar account.
  2. Navigate to My Account.
  3. Select Volunteer.
  4. Review available opportunities and shift details.
  5. Claim the volunteer opportunity you wish to complete.
  6. Monitor your completed and remaining credits throughout the season.

Important: Use the same Crossbar account associated with your player's registration to ensure volunteer credits are properly applied to your family account.

Volunteer Requirements

Each family is required to complete 22 volunteer credits during the season.

  • Volunteer requirements are assessed per family, not per player.
  • Families who do not complete their required credits will be assessed a $750 Volunteer Fee at the conclusion of the season.
  • Families may choose a Volunteer Buyout Option during registration for $700, which waives all volunteer requirements for the season.

Volunteer requirements and fees are reviewed annually and may be adjusted based on association needs.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities may include:

  • Concession Stand
  • Association Tournaments
  • Fundraising Events
  • Team Support Roles
  • Association Events
  • Special Projects and Committees
  • Additional opportunities posted throughout the season

Available opportunities, shift descriptions, dates, locations, and credit values can be found within your Crossbar account.

Canceling or Changing a Volunteer Shift

  • Volunteer commitments should only be claimed if you intend to fulfill them.
  • If you are unable to work a scheduled shift, please release the shift as soon as possible so another family may claim it.
  • Shifts should be released at least 7 days before the scheduled event whenever possible.
  • Volunteers are responsible for finding replacement coverage for late cancellations.
  • Failure to report for an assigned or claimed shift may result in a $25 no-show fee and loss of volunteer credit.
