Regular Season
The Inver Grove Heights Hockey Association (IGHHA) provides youth hockey development for youth players from Mini‑Mites through 15U. Our program emphasizes skating fundamentals, skill development, teamwork, and a positive experience for all players.
Families register at the Minnesota Hockey‑defined age level each season.
Ages
Players ages 4 and above may participate, depending on their Minnesota Hockey birthdate range.
First‑year skaters should register as 1st Year Mini‑Mites. Also, if your participant's age and skill level are best suited for participation with first-year skaters, please select 1st Year Mini-Mites.
When
The hockey season runs from fall through early spring, beginning with warm‑ups and tryouts and ending with District, Regional, and State tournaments for qualifying teams.
Where
Practices and home games are held at the Veterans Memorial Community Center (VMCC) in Inver Grove Heights. Away games may be played throughout the District and metro area.
Tournament locations vary based on level of play and tournament availability.
Practices
Teams typically practice two or more times per week, with schedules varying by level.
Games
Game counts vary by level. Most teams play 20–30 games during the season, with the majority scheduled on weekends.
Tournament participation is included for eligible levels.
Jerseys
Each player receives a club jersey after registration. This jersey stays with them as they move through the levels.
If a replacement is needed due to sizing changes or damage, families are responsible for purchasing a new jersey at their own cost.
Extra Costs
Families should expect team‑managed costs such as additional tournament fees, team apparel, and travel expenses. Fundraising and volunteer requirements apply per family.
